THE GROWING SEASON IS OVER FOR 2025. THE PICK YOUR OWN FIELDS AND THE RED BARN FARM MARKET ARE CLOSED FOR THE WINTER. WE WILL OPEN IN THE SPRING WHEN THE STRAWBERRIES RIPEN, USUALLY IN LATE MAY.

THANK YOU FOR PICKING LARRILAND FARM. WE CAN’T GROW WITHOUT YOU. WE ARE SAD TO SAY GOODBYE UNTIL NEXT STRAWBERRY SEASON. SEE YOU THEN!!

HELPFUL HINTS WHEN WE ARE OPEN:

During the growing season, sometimes all of the ripe fruit is picked and we have to close the field for a bit to allow the green fruit time to ripen. Just before leaving home please check this website or call 410-442-2605 to make sure we are still open with ripe fruit for you to pick. This page and the phone message are updated everyday and throughout the day as necessary to make sure you get accurate picking information.

Dress for the weather.

• When it’s hot and sunny, wear loose fitting, LIGHT colored clothing and a HAT. Drink plenty of water before entering the fields. Eat breakfast.
• Dress for cold weather. Wear a coat, scarf and hat.
• If it’s raining or recently rained, wear a rain coat, hat and boots because you will get wet in the field while picking.

Harvest season begins when the strawberry crop ripens in late May – early June.  The harvest season ends with the apple crop in early November. For a complete list of all our crops and their approximate ripening times, please click on the Harvest Calendars below.

PICK YOUR OWN POLICIES

• There is a required minimum purchase to enter the field. Pay before picking. The containers are at each field.
• What you pick must fit in the container you bought. If not you must buy another container. You must buy all that you pick. There are several different sizes of containers. You may buy any combination of sizes you want. The size of the container determines how many people may enter the field. The price of the container includes the produce you pick that fits in the container.
• Entry to pick your own fields ends 1/2 hour before closing.  
• Please leave all your pets and companion animals at home: dogs, cats, goats, ducks, parrots, snakes, lizards, frogs, etc. Service animals that are trained to aid the disabled as defined by Maryland law are welcome. 
• No personal containers allowed in our fields. No backpacks. No handbags. No purses. No outside containers. Baby strollers, diaper bags, etc. will be inspected.
• No eating in the pick your own fields.
• No entry into fields not open for picking.
• No walking tours. You may not walk all around the farm.

Policies and Helpful Hints:

During the harvest season, our crops in the field change daily based on the growing season and customer demand. Always check just before leaving your home to find out what’s available that day and to avoid disappointment. Check this website or call 410-442-2605. The telephone recording and this website are up-dated every day and throughout the day, as needed during the harvest season.

• Pick your own crops are charged by the container, not by the pound. Drive to the pick your own fields, (do not walk) following signs from the Red Barn. At the field, purchase a Larriland container before picking. Pay at each field where you purchase your container: credit card, cash, check. No outside containers allowed on our farm. The produce you pick must fit in the container. All produce picked must be purchased.
• Larriland’s fields are for picking, not for eating.
• Fields that are open for picking are staffed with a clerk, a check out stand, and price signs. All other fields are closed for picking. You may visit fields that are open for picking. Do not wander about the farm as other fields may have operating machinery and it could be dangerous to be nearby.
• To pick: follow the instructions of the clerk to pick properly ripened fruits/vegetables. Leave unripe fruits/vegetables on the plant to ripen in a few days.
• Children are welcome when accompanied and monitored by their parents.
• Please leave your dogs/pets at home.
• Pay at each field where you pick. You must but all that you pick. Cash, checks, and credit cards accepted both in the fields and in the Red Barn.
• No eating in the pick your own fields.
• The picnic area is at the Red Barn. Bagged or boxed lunches only. Food trucks on the weekends.
• No grills. No cook-outs.
• No wandering about the farm. No loitering.
• No drones allowed anywhere on the farm.
