Strawberries and red or white wine, champagne and a variety of liqueurs are spirited combinations. Kirsch, cherry, raspberry and blackberry brandy, kummel, Cointreau and the best cognac are complementary partners. Champagne, port and marsala are especially good with strawberries. Avoid overpowering flavors.
Simply put fresh, bulled berries in individual glasses, sprinkle with sugar, then with the spirit. Frozen, unsweetened strawberries can be substituted in all recipes.
